Project Definition Phase

Prior to developing a statement of work, Maia works closely with clients to define the issues they seek to address, determine the project objectives and obtain a clear understanding of the critical decisions Maia’s analysis will support.

Throughout the Project Definition Phase, Maia provides an objective perspective on the issues clients seek to address. Maia employs this practice because we believe successful engagements are a result of working with clients to clearly define the project mission and determine the best approach to analyzing their issues. If answers are being sought for the wrong questions or the wrong approach is being employed, then valuable resources are not being put their best use.

After working with our clients to determine the best approach to utilize, Maia develops a detailed statement of work. The core of each statement of work consists of key questions Maia will research. These questions are highly customized to fit the unique circumstances of every engagement. Maia often seeks answers to very detailed and granular questions, which reflects our ability to mine “hard-to-get” information which is only obtainable through effective primary research.

Primary Research & Analysis Phase

Maia specializes in providing customized market research through semi-structured, open-ended and in-depth interviewing techniques. Maia has a market leading core competency in ethically engaging our clients' competitors, customers, suppliers, partners, and other market participants to mine insight that is not available through secondary research channels. Equipped with this insight, Maia puts its clients in the best position to make fast, thorough and informed decisions.

Maia synthesizes and analyzes disparate sources of information to provide fact based conclusions on our clients' marketplace. Based on these facts, Maia advises clients on their most important business decisions and provides clients with the best course of action to compete better in their market.

Conclusions & Recommendations Phase

A key role Maia plays in all of its engagements is simplifying complex issues. Maia provides a deep level of understanding behind these issues which is communicated through easily understood conclusions.

Developing conclusions entails gathering and processing large volumes of research and communicating it through a condensed set of salient points. Maia's conclusions provide clients with a simple and structured view on complex and dynamic business issues.

Based on these conclusions Maia develops recommendations for its clients which are customized to address the unique nature of each client's objective. Some recommendations are tactical and can be implemented in the near-term, while others can be defined as higher level recommendations that executive leaders should incorporate into their strategic planning. Often our recommendations are attached to some level of "implementation feasibility" which indicates the expected time-line and resource levels required to execute the recommendations. Other recommendations are based on scenario planning exercises which consider "what-if" scenarios and potential plans of action based on market signals that indicate the existence of a future market scenario.

Across all projects, recommendations clearly communicate how clients can utilize the research Maia gathers to compete better, increase market share and strengthen their overall position within the marketplace.
